About the role:

We are looking for a Marketing Backend Developer to support and enhance the backend infrastructure that powers our customer-facing websites and Marketing Operations systems. This role sits between junior and senior levels and is ideal for a developer who has solid backend fundamentals, experience working with modern cloud and API-based architectures, and is eager to grow their technical depth while partnering closely with marketing and web teams.

In this role, you will help build, maintain, and optimize backend services and integrations that connect systems like Marketo, Salesforce, and other marketing technologies. You’ll work alongside more senior engineers and cross-functional partners, contributing to scalable solutions that improve data flow, automation, and overall marketing effectiveness.

What you'll do:

  • Develop, maintain, and support backend services and APIs that power customer-facing websites and marketing platforms.
  • Assist with integrations between Marketing Operations systems (e.g., Marketo, Salesforce) to ensure reliable data flow and workflow automation.
  • Contribute to database design and maintenance to support marketing and customer data needs, with a focus on reliability and performance.
  • Build and maintain APIs and services that integrate with third-party platforms and internal tools.
  • Help optimize backend code and processes for performance, scalability, and stability.
  • Collaborate with front-end developers, designers, and marketing stakeholders to deliver high-quality digital experiences.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve backend issues, escalating complex problems when needed.
  • Write and maintain clear technical documentation for systems, integrations, and processes.
  • Communicate progress, risks, and status updates to relevant stakeholders.
  • Follow issues and defects through their full lifecycle to resolution.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.

About you:

  • 3–6 years of experience developing and supporting backend systems, APIs, or services.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field, or equivalent practical experienceWorking knowledge of cloud-based infrastructure, preferably AWS (e.g., Lambda, S3, DynamoDB, and similar services).
  • Demonstrated experience leveraging AI tools and technologies to improve workflows, enhance decision-making, or drive innovation.
  • Experience building or maintaining server-side APIs using Ruby, Python (Django, Flask), Node JS or similar backend technologies.
  • Familiarity with marketing technology stacks and integrations (e.g., CRM, marketing automation platforms) is a strong plus.
  • Exposure to modern web architectures such as composable or JAMStack environments.
  • Ability to accept feedback, learn quickly, and continuously improve technical skills.

Nice to have:

  • Experience supporting or integrating with Marketo, Salesforce, or similar platforms.
  • Familiarity with infrastructure-as-code tools (e.g., CloudFormation, SAM, or Terraform).
  • Experience working on customer-facing web platforms in a marketing or SaaS environment.
  • Experience with Google Tag Manager, contentful, Netlify.
  • Familiarity with core front-end development concepts, including HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and component-based architectures.
  • Experience working with a modern JavaScript framework (e.g., Astro, React, Vue, Svelte, Next.js)
  • Exposure to modern web build tools and workflows (e.g., Vite, bundlers, static site generation, or JAMstack patterns).
