Reporting to the Head of Fundraising and Development, the Fundraising Systems Manager supports Amref Health Africa’s fundraising teams in Europe and North America (ENA) to use systems, data and digital tools effectively and strategically, working closely with ENA fundraising teams and the global ICT team.
The role leads the effective use and ongoing development of Amref’s global CRM (Microsoft Dynamics 365) and related platforms, strengthening data-driven fundraising across countries.
Operating at the intersection of fundraising, data and technology, the role bridges fundraising and system development by translating needs into functional requirements and supporting prioritisation and roadmap planning. The focus is coordination and enablement rather than hands-on development.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
1. Fundraising CRM
- Act as Global Product Owner for Amref’s global CRM (Microsoft Dynamics 365 CRM and Customer Insights), coordinating prioritisation, improvements, testing and feature development with ICT and fundraising users.
- Serve as the primary interface between fundraising teams and ICT, ensuring user needs are captured and translated into functional requirements.
- Coordinate onboarding, training and ongoing functional support for users, including documentation and troubleshooting.
- Support ENA offices with campaign selections, segmentation and data-related queries.
2. Fundraising Systems
- Coordinate the selection, implementation and ongoing use of fundraising tools (e.g. donation platforms and payment methods), ensuring alignment with fundraising processes and CRM.
- Support the assessment and selection of systems suppliers and contracts to ensure best value and suitability.
- Work with national teams to optimise and track donations to Amref across websites.
- Work with ICT, colleagues and suppliers to ensure integration of fundraising systems with the CRM and websites.
3. Data Driven Analysis and Planning
- Contribute to planning and coordination of a global data platform for fundraising analytics, in collaboration with ICT and stakeholders.
- Coordinate the development and use of global fundraising dashboards.
- Facilitate and support multi-country working groups on data-driven fundraising where relevant.
- Provide tools, templates and guidance to support ENA offices improving data quality, CRM usage and related processes.
- Ensure systems and data usage align with Amref’s Individual Giving Strategy.
- Maintain clear documentation of data flows, user needs, system changes and agreed processes.
EXPECTATIONS
- Actively contribute as a member of the Fundraising & Development team and collaborate closely with colleagues at Amref Headquarters and ENA offices.
- Represent the Fundraising & Development Division in discussions with ICT and other internal stakeholders.
- Effectively bridge strategic priorities, operational needs and technical possibilities between fundraising teams and ICT.
- Participate in internal meetings, working groups and training sessions, both virtual and in person.
- Demonstrate flexibility, collaboration and commitment within a complex international environment.
- Ensure all work aligns with Amref policies, values and organisational culture.
- Be willing and able to travel internationally when virtual collaboration is insufficient.
Education
- Bachelor's degree in Database Systems, Marketing Analytics, Data Science, Digital Marketing & Systems or a related field
Experience
- Extensive experience (typically 6–8 years) working with fundraising/marketing systems in a fundraising environment, preferably within an international or multi-country context
- Strong understanding of individual giving fundraising techniques, channels and products
- Extensive user-level experience of CRM systems for fundraising; experience with Microsoft Dynamics 365 CRM and Customer Insights is a strong advantage
- Experience working with cross-functional teams, including ICT, consultants and external suppliers
- Experience working in or with an International NGO is an added advantage
- Experience coordinating or contributing to cross-organisational working groups
Skills and Competencies
- Demonstrated ability to translate fundraising and user needs into functional requirements for technical teams
- Excellent verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills, with the ability to work across cultures and organizational levels.
- Ability to work proactively and independently, while also collaborating effectively as part of a team.
- Fluency in spoken and written English
