This position plays an important role in supporting the credit union’s collection efforts while maintaining a positive member experience. The Member Solutions Specialist works directly with members to resolve delinquent accounts, establish payment solutions, and ensure collection activities are handled professionally and in compliance with applicable laws and regulations.
Position Summary
The Member Solutions Specialist is responsible for the credit union’s collection efforts including letters, phone calls, door knocks, repossessions, and remarketing activities.
Duties and Responsibilities
• Maintain a positive and professional attitude when representing the credit union
• Provide prompt and professional service to both internal and external members
• Cross sell credit union products and services when appropriate
• Ensure collection efforts are performed timely and in accordance with applicable laws and regulations
• Ensure required collection letters are mailed timely and accurately
• Conduct collection activities including phone calls, skip tracing, and door knocks when necessary
• Ensure members maintain proper insurance coverage on collateral loans
• Monitor and maintain Collateral Protection Insurance requirements
• Maintain accurate collection notes and updates within the collection queue and Keystone system
• Work with members to establish payment arrangements that benefit both the member and the credit union
• Process account charge offs accurately and in a timely manner
• Review and manage collection reports including delinquent loans with money, first payment defaults, large loan delinquencies, advanced due dates, interest greater than payment due, and credit card over the limit reports
• Work closely with the President, Vice President of Member Loyalty and Opportunity, and Member Solutions Manager to support operational goals
• Maintain procedures that support the philosophy and objectives of the credit union
• Contribute to a team focused environment by assisting coworkers with questions or concerns
• Perform other duties as assigned
• Minimum two years equivalent work experience involving customer service and problem solving in the collections space
• Credit union experience preferred
• Extensive customer service experience required
• Bilingual skills a plus
• Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook
• Comfortable using general office and financial equipment
Compensation: $23-26/hr and EXCEPTIONAL benefits to include unlimited PTO and 401K match!
