As the Director of Product, Data, you'll lead GitLab's data product strategy and delivery across three areas: customer analytics and reporting, data products that can drive revenue, and internal data products that support GitLab's reporting and decisions. You'll set the vision for a reporting platform that helps customers understand and improve how they build and deliver software, including dashboards for engineering efficiency, DORA metrics, value stream analytics, and security insights. You'll also drive new data products like the GitLab Knowledge Graph and define how we connect and share data inside and outside the GitLab ecosystem to support analytics and AI.
In this director-level role, you'll manage and grow a team with direct reports and partner closely with engineering leadership to make clear, high-impact product decisions. Success requires a 0 to 1 mindset and strong systems thinking. You'll shape prioritization, define target customer cohorts, and build a path to monetization for complex data products. You'll also represent the data product direction in executive conversations, aligning stakeholders on what we're building, why it matters, and how it can drive a durable new revenue stream for GitLab.
Some examples of our projects:
The Data Product team builds the foundations and experiences that help customers and GitLab team members use data with confidence. We work cross-functionally across product, engineering, and go-to-market stakeholders to set priorities, define trusted metrics, and deliver iteratively in a remote, asynchronous environment. For more on how we work, see the Data Product Team Handbook page.
Remote-GlobalPlease note that we welcome interest from candidates with varying levels of experience; many successful candidates do not meet every single requirement. Additionally, studies have shown that people from underrepresented groups are less likely to apply to a job unless they meet every single qualification. If you're excited about this role, please apply and allow our recruiters to assess your application.
