Accountabilities
Guarantee availability and performance of Oracle databases in production environmentsSupport legacy data migrations to OIPA systems for life insurance implementationsPerform troubleshooting and resolution of database incidents with root cause analysisAssist development teams in the construction of efficient queries and database optimizationIdentify inefficient queries and provide optimization recommendationsParticipate in technical meetings with English-speaking teams to provide complex technical explanationsLearn advanced database administration techniques from Senior DBA mentorSupport backup and recovery operations for mission-critical systemsCollaborate in infrastructure projects and best practice implementationCreate automation scripts for repetitive database tasksMaintain systems documentation and inventory
Requirements
Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or a related field5+ years of experience in Oracle Database administration (versions 19c/21c preferred)3+ years of additional experience in IT or other database technologiesStrong knowledge of Entity-Attribute-Value (EAV) models and large volume data managementExpertise in advanced Oracle partitioning techniques and data organization strategiesSolid experience with performance tuning and optimization, including AWR analysis, execution plans, and indexing strategiesAdvanced PL/SQL development and Shell/Linux scripting capabilitiesExperience with Oracle Enterprise Manager (OEM) and AWR tools or similar monitoring solutionsBasic knowledge or exposure to Oracle GoldenGate for data replication and migrationFamiliarity with Oracle Data Integrator (ODI) or similar ETL toolsBasic understanding of Oracle APEX or willingness to learn data manipulation toolsExperience with Linux and Windows Server environmentsExcellent written and verbal communication skills, in Spanish and English (B2 or higher)High level of autonomy (8/10) and ability to manage multiple projects simultaneouslyProactivity and strong problem-solving initiativeEmotional intelligence and empathy for effective team collaborationRapid learning capability and ability to quickly understand complex technical and business challengesKnowledge sharing ability and excellent capacity to explain complex concepts clearlyImpeccable attention to detail
