Research Analyst & Writer - WIPR Rankings

Fully remote contractor role in South Africa. Full time, UK hours 9am - 5.30pm, 37.5 hours a week, Monday to Friday.
We are seeking an ambitious, motivated and hard-working research analyst and writer to assist with the research and writing of our reports.
WIPR Rankings is the home of authoritative, well-researched, business-essential rankings of intellectual property law firms and lawyers.
The Rankings Research Analyst & Writer is responsible for conducting in-depth desk research, analysing law firm capabilities, and compiling authoritative rankings for WIPR Rankings. The role involves reviewing written submissions, conducting interviews with legal professionals, and distilling qualitative and quantitative information into well-structured reports. The Research Analyst must ensure accuracy, clarity, and consistency in reporting while maintaining editorial standards.
You will need to be independent minded and intellectually curious. You will also be tasked with writing summaries of the law firms and lawyers in your rankings in a clear and accessible writing style. Research analysts take ownership of the rankings and writing assigned to them and regularly discuss their work with the rankings editor.
This role would suit a recent graduate with a law background or a business journalist with an interest in the legal/IP sector.
Please note this is not a data analyst role.
