About the Company
Our client is an Australian, privately owned company delivering quality construction projects since 2000. It is equipped with cutting-edge technology and a modern, state-of-the-art depot facility.

As a Civil Estimator, you will be crucial in preparing technical estimates and marketing and tendering packages for civil engineering projects. This position requires collaboration with project managers, engineers, and construction teams to ensure all estimates are precise and competitive, facilitating successful project bidding and execution.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop comprehensive cost estimates for civil engineering projects, encompassing materials, labour, equipment, and subcontractor costs using our in-house Excel spreadsheets.
  • Analyse drawings, specifications, proposals, and other documentation to prepare time, cost, materials, and labor estimates using blue beam revue.
  • Evaluate cost-effectiveness and explore potential areas for cost reduction.
  • Collaborate with engineers, clients, and contractors to refine estimates.
  • Review and assess subcontractor proposals and bids.
  • Monitor market trends and pricing for construction materials and labor.
  • Ensure a representative is attending pre-bid meetings and perform site visits to gather essential information for estimates.
  • Maintain a detailed database of historical data to enhance the accuracy of future project estimates.
  • Prepare and submit budget estimates, progress, and cost-tracking reports.
  • Ensure all estimating activities comply with corporate standards and regulatory requirements.

  • Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or related field.
  • Demonstrated experience as an estimator in civil construction projects.
  • Proficiency in Blue Beam Revue software and estimation software along with MS Office and MS project.
  • Strong analytical, mathematical, and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent attention to detail with the capability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Outstanding communication and negotiation skills.
  • Ability to interpret construction plans and contract terms.
  • Preparing Construction Methodologies, Management Plans etc.
