Who are we looking for:
We’re seeking a strategic and experienced leader to serve as our Design Build Leader, someone who thrives in a collaborative environment and brings deep expertise in both traditional Design Build (DB) and Progressive Design Build (PDB) methodologies. This individual will oversee all aspects of Collaborative Delivery, from pre-construction through completion, and play a critical role in delivering Integrated Solutions in partnership with our O&M division.
As the company’s primary advocate and subject matter expert for Collaborative Delivery, the ideal candidate will lead cross-functional teams to execute complex water and environmental infrastructure projects with a focus on safety, quality, profitability, and client satisfaction. Success in this role requires strong collaboration across our Consulting and Operations Divisions, and the ability to work closely with Client Managers to educate and guide clients through tailored project approaches that meet regulatory requirements.

What You Will Be Doing at Woodard & Curran:
Provide leadership and oversight for the safe delivery of all Pre-Construction, Cost Estimating, Scheduling, Construction, Project Management, Program Management and Administration activities associated with DB projects for Woodard & Curran, Inc. (W&C) and Woodard Curran Constructors (WCC). Leader of construction team within Collaborative Delivery; providing mentorship, direction, and compliance to the team members. Accountable for ensuring the implementation of project requirements, including risk management tools and strategies. Accountable for project team adherence to operational requirements and the resulting project financial performance with projects that are booked as DB. Drives all facets of the Collaborative Delivery project team, including, but not limited to, safety, design, estimating, scheduling, procurement, legal, and construction. Liaison in the Collaborative Delivery community (Construction, Design, and Equipment Vendor firms) for future project teaming/partnering opportunities. Assist Client Managers in the identification and pursuit efforts of Collaborative Delivery Projects.Strategic LeadershipProvide executive oversight for all Collaborative Delivery, including traditional DB and PDB project delivery. Support business development efforts with Integrated Solutions Division Leader, Strategy, O&M, and through personal networks. Drive financial performance and profitability goals aligned with the company’s Strategic Plan. Serve on the Risk Review Board for pre-proposal reviews and project assessments. Client & Business PartnershipServe as company ambassador to the Collaborative Delivery community. Build and contract delivery partner networks in collaboration with Integrated Solution Division Leader and other Leaders within the organization. Negotiate contracts and resolve legal/technical issues with Legal team. Support proposal development and Go / No-Go decisions. Maintain general contractor licenses across all project jurisdictions. Minimum 15 years of related Industry Experience or equivalent education and experience in Collaborative Delivery and risk management success. Expertise in PDB, including phased procurement, early contractor involvement, and collaborative delivery methods. Strong background in water/environmental markets and municipal/private sectors. General construction and subcontracting experience Experience with DBO and DBOF preferred General contractor licenses (or ability to obtain). Knowledge of OSHA regulations and safety protocols. Proficiency with project management tools and financial controls. The duties and responsibilities are generally performed in an office environment. The position generally involves continuous sitting; frequent standing; frequent walking; light to moderate lifting; light carrying; frequent bending and reaching; keyboarding and telephone operation.The environmental conditions generally include ambient inside temperature, lighting and noise levels. Conditions may also include extended periods of travel by automobile and/or airplane transport. May require an irregular work schedule and overtime hours.May review or perform work at interior and exterior work locations that involve hazardous environments requiring protective equipment that conforms to OSHA regulations and some physical discomfort due to temperature, dust and noise. May require outdoor and/or on-site field work. May be required to work in confined spaces, on ladders and rooftops, and in adverse weather conditions.
