We are looking for a remote Configuration Manager to support the&#160;Application and Science Common Services Support (ASCSS) program.&#160;ASCSS specializes in transitioning systems from research to operations. We support&#160; integration tasks for several NOAA weather satellites by ensuring that a functional&#160; algorithm is in place and ready for operations. ASCSS works with science teams and&#160; stakeholders to: conduct a standard set of project reviews; generate a standard set of&#160; documentation; develop and refine requirements; track risks and mitigations; clean code&#160; for coding/security, common data formats and metadata (CF &amp; ISO), standard&#160; languages, tools, and libraries; test software; validate products, perform configuration&#160; management; and prepare the Delivered Algorithm Package.KEY DUTIES&#160;<ul><li>Administers the change control process for software development. &#8729; Responsible for configuration management of requirements, code, and software configurations.&#160;</li><li>Evaluates and selects configuration management tools and standards. &#8729; Develop and maintain, as needed, CM processes, plans, policies, Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), work instructions and other documents. &#8729; Support and advise end users on approved CM policies and procedures.&#160;</li></ul>ESSENTIAL SKILLS&#160;&#160;<ul><li>Knowledge of hardware and software configuration management concepts, goals, benefits, and standard strategies to achieve those goals.&#160;</li><li>Experience with containerization technologies such as Docker and Kubernetes &#8226; Experience with configuration and baseline identification, change control, configuration status accounting, and configuration audits.&#160;</li><li>Experience developing and maintaining software configuration management tools to support configuration identification, control, reporting, and delivery of both internally and externally developed software products.&#160;</li><li>Experience developing software configuration standards for organizational use. &#8226; Experience with software version control administration.&#160;</li><li>Experience with SCM concepts and methodologies.&#160;</li><li>In-depth knowledge of branching, merging, and baselining strategies in Git. &#8226; Experience designing and implementing build and deployment procedures used to support product development and use.&#160;</li><li>Experience building software written in C/C++ or Fortran, preferably in a Linux environment.&#160;</li><li>Experience with continuous integration and continuous delivery (CI/CD) practices.&#160;</li><li>Strong scripting language skills required. Bash, Perl, or Python preferred. &#8226; Green Card or US Citizenship is required.&#160;</li></ul>DESIRED SKILLS&#160;<ul><li>Experience with SCM tools such as Git, GitLab, ClearCase, etc.&#160;</li><li>Experience with AWS or other cloud platforms&#160;</li><li>Experience with Jenkins and GitLab Runner.&#160;</li><li>Experience documenting and providing training on processes, work instructions, etc.&#160;</li><li>Teamwork, strong inter-personal skills.&#160;</li></ul>EXPERIENCE AND EDUCATION&#160;<ul><li>Bachelor's degree in Information Technology or related field&#160;&#160;</li></ul>ABOUT GAMA-1GAMA-1 is a rapidly growing technology business that is based in Greenbelt, Maryland.
