We’re excited to announce this opportunity to join our team as a Contract Senior Web Visual Designer (UX/IU).ABOUT THE JOBWe are seeking a talented Contract Senior Web Visual Designer (UX/IU) to join our Creative Services team. The role requires not only your impeccable design skills and passion for art &amp; technology but also expertise in client management, problem-solving, and strategic thinking. This is a great opportunity for a creative, eloquent, and organized designer to make a large impact on a growing department, with plenty of independence and flexibility within the role.This is a fully remote position and reports to the Director of Strategy and Creative.RESPONSIBILITIESYou can expect to: <ul> <li>Generate end-to-end visual strategy and collateral for our clients including but not limited to: strategic direction, pattern libraries, mood boards, wireframes, UI visuals, and high fidelity prototypes.</li> <li>Collaborate with our Content and UX Strategists to craft experiences that are not only visually appealing but effective at balancing user goals and business needs.</li> <li>Assist our internal marketing team by providing design support to further our ongoing marketing objectives.</li> <li>Be Kanopi’s advocate for design by articulating and defending your design rationale to both internal stakeholders and clients.</li> <li>Work closely with our Project Management team to define project deliverables and delivery schedules.</li> <li>Contribute to website visual design direction and collaboration with the creative services team.</li> <li>Provide mentorship to intermediate and junior team members in the form of constructive feedback and recommendations on project deliverables.</li> </ul> ABOUT THE COMPENSATION &amp; WORK REQUIREMENTS This is a contract position. Hourly rate is commensurate with experience. Not to worry, the pay is competitive and what you'd expect for this role. RequirementsWe are looking for candidates who demonstrate the following skills and competencies: <ul> <li>A strong portfolio showcasing your understanding of user-centered, responsive website design.</li> <li>5+ years of professional experience designing responsive and mobile website products.</li> <li>3+ years of experience working within an agency setting.</li> <li>Familiarity with design and communications tools including Figma, Adobe Creative Cloud, Slack, and Google suite of tools.</li> <li>Capability to communicate ideas to a wide range of audiences while incorporating constructive feedback.</li> <li>Comfortable working remotely within a distributed team.</li> <li>Comfortable working in both waterfall and agile environments.</li> <li>Able to manage multiple projects with evolving requirements.</li> <li>Familiarity with front-end web design practices and coding is a plus but not required.</li> <li>Experience with mission-driven and nonprofit clients is a plus.</li> <li>Have a passion for the web, open-source development, and working with a community of fun, humorous folks!</li> </ul>At Kanopi, we believe a variety of backgrounds, experiences, and voices make for a better workplace.
