Enterprise Horizon Consulting Group is seeking a&nbsp;Mid-Tier Database Administrator (DBA)&nbsp;with an active Secret clearance and expertise in managing databases within a Windows environment to join our team. This role is fully remote. The ideal candidate will have a solid background in database administration, performance tuning, and maintenance, as well as experience working with SQL Server or other database management systems (DBMS) in a Windows-based environment.Key Responsibilities:<ul> <li>Database Administration:</li> <ul> <li>Manage, monitor, and maintain SQL Server databases in a Windows environment.</li> <li>Perform regular database maintenance tasks such as backups, indexing, and data archiving to ensure system stability.</li> <li>Install, configure, and upgrade database software and related applications.</li> </ul> <li>Performance Tuning &amp; Optimization:</li> <ul> <li>Monitor database performance, identify bottlenecks, and apply performance tuning techniques to improve efficiency.</li> <li>Perform query optimization, indexing, and troubleshooting of slow-running queries.</li> <li>Analyze and resolve database-related issues in a timely manner.</li> </ul> <li>Security &amp; Compliance:</li> <ul> <li>Implement and enforce database security policies, ensuring compliance with government and DoD security standards.</li> <li>Manage database access and permissions, ensuring the protection of sensitive data.</li> <li>Conduct regular security audits and apply patches and updates to address vulnerabilities.</li> </ul> <li>Backup &amp; Recovery:</li> <ul> <li>Develop, test, and implement database backup and recovery strategies to ensure data integrity and availability.</li> <li>Perform disaster recovery planning and execution, including regular testing of recovery procedures.</li> </ul> <li>Database Design &amp; Development Support:</li> <ul> <li>Collaborate with developers and system administrators to design and implement database solutions that meet business requirements.</li> <li>Provide input on database schema design, data modeling, and normalization best practices.</li> <li>Assist in the development and deployment of new database features or applications.</li> </ul> <li>Automation &amp; Scripting:</li> <ul> <li>Automate routine database tasks using scripts (e.g., PowerShell, T-SQL) to streamline operations and minimize manual intervention.</li> <li>Develop monitoring scripts to track database health and automate alerts for potential issues.</li> </ul> </ul>Requirements<ul><li> Active Secret clearance&nbsp;is required.</li></ul><ul> <li>Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field (or equivalent work experience).</li> <li>3+ years of experience as a DBA, specifically managing SQL Server databases in a Windows environment.</li> <li>Proficiency in database performance tuning, query optimization, and troubleshooting.</li> <li>Strong understanding of database security best practices and government security compliance.</li> <li>Experience with database backup, recovery, and disaster recovery strategies.</li> <li>Familiarity with PowerShell, T-SQL, or other scripting languages for automation.</li> </ul>Highly Desired Qualifications: <ul> <li>Microsoft SQL Server certifications (e.g., MCSA, MCSE).</li> <li>Experience with other DBMS such as Oracle or MySQL.</li> <li>Knowledge of cloud-based database platforms, such as Azure SQL or AWS RDS.</li> <li>Experience in a government or defense environment.</li> </ul>BenefitsWe offer full-time salaried employees competitive salaries with a range of benefits, including medical, dental, vision, life insurance, simple IRA with company match, federal holidays, vacation time, and sick leave.&nbsp;&nbsp;$500 Referral Bonus&nbsp;If this position is not a perfect fit for you, but you know someone who would be a great match, please refer them to us via our Candidate Referral Program by going to: <a href="http://www.enterprisehorizon.com/candidatereferrals" target="_blank" rel="nofollow noreferrer noopener" class="external">www.enterprisehorizon.com/candidatereferrals</a>.
