About the Role The Athletic is seeking an Operations Manager to support the Newsroom Operations Director oversee the numerous logistics involved in the smooth daily operation of The Athletic’s newsroom.&nbsp; This position requires a range of logistical and operational responsibilities. The ideal candidate for this role will be an engaged and collegial team member with very strong organizational skills. Flexibility, curiosity and a desire to learn are critical to success in this role. The role is remote for candidates located in the United States or Canada only.\n Responsibilities<ul><li>Assist in the planning and logistics for all company summits.&nbsp;</li><li>Research, plan and submit credentials requests for large scale sports events.</li><li>Support oversight procedures on all budgets, including monthly closes, supplying additional financial reports as needed.</li><li>Manage the internal security deployment system and paperwork.</li><li>Daily upkeep of the archive system.</li><li>Manage vendors and process payments, working closely with finance as needed.</li><li>Work in Coupa for independent contractor onboarding, vendor onboarding, and purchasing.</li></ul> Requirements<ul><li>5+ years of experience in an operational or administrative role.</li><li>​Bachelor's degree preferred, or equivalent combination of training and experience.</li><li>Impeccable organizational and time management skills; ability to multitask, prioritize and work under deadline pressure.</li><li>A self-starter with the ability to self-manage daily duties.&nbsp;</li><li>Excellent interpersonal oral and written communications skills.</li><li>Ability to work with all levels of management and staff in a highly professional manner.</li><li>Ability to research resources, troubleshoot and solve problems.</li><li>Advanced computer skills are a must, including experience with Google, MS Word, Excel, PeopleSoft, Workday, and Coupa.</li><li>The role is remote for candidates located in the United States or Canada only.</li></ul> \nThe annual base salary range for this role is $70,000.00 - $80,000.00 USD. The total compensation offered for this position may vary based on factors such as education, experience, skills, and location. It may also include non-cash rewards and benefits.
