Midway through 2023, we were delighted to publicly announce that Printify became a profitable business. The Team We are looking for a Principal Engineer to join our growing Engineering team. We transform business dreams into awesome digital products. We do this magic through 21 loosely coupled squads - each specializing in their own area of expertise. These include, but are not limited to, Sales Experience, Discoverability, Order services, Payments, Supply, and Product Presentation. Printify is a true product company. Each engineering squad works on its own product or area of expertise tirelessly. This yields sustainable, clean code along with less technical debt. The Role As a Principal Engineer, you will play a key role in shaping the architecture of the Printify Print On Demand platform through a strong understanding of requirements. Communication, problem-solving, and leadership are essential skills to succeed in this position. Developing in this role will give you the opportunity to grow and move up within the company.&nbsp;\n The technology we use:<ul><li>PHP 8+, Symfony, Doctrine, and Laravel.</li><li>TypeScript, NodeJS – Frameworks from NestJS, Loopback, and Ts.ED.</li><li>Angular, TypeScript, HTML, SCSS, and RxJS.</li><li>Jenkins, Prometheus, Grafana, and Elasticsearch.</li><li>Cypress, PHPUnit, and Postman.</li><li>MongoDB, MySQL, and PostgreSQL.</li><li>AWS, Kubernetes, Docker, and Git.</li></ul><div> </div> Your responsibilities:<ul><li>Be responsible for architecture and technical decisions made in assigned teams, review and help teams prepare architectural and design documentation with a focus on ensuring the technical work fits into the broader platform strategy and defined practices.</li><li>Guide development teams through implementation by providing POC’s, explaining design details, and solving design issues.</li><li>Investigate and solve a variety of architecture-related problems such as performance, scalability, integration, and other.</li><li>Mentor and train other team members on design techniques and coding standards, and cultivate innovation and collaboration across multiple teams.</li><li>Working closely with fellow architects and engineers in order to create cohesive architecture practices and guardrails, whilst driving the adoption of these practices/standards across the teams.</li></ul><div> </div> Minimum Qualifications:<ul><li>At least 8 years of proven experience in roles like Principal Engineer, Lead Developer or Software Architect.</li><li>Excellent problem-solving and communication skills.</li><li>Solid understanding of software fundamentals (Data Structures, Software Architecture, Design Patterns, Distributed Systems).</li><li>Understanding of Microservices architecture and Domain Driven Design principles.</li><li>Experience with AWS.</li><li>Excellent written &amp; spoken communication skills in English.</li></ul> Preferred Qualifications:<ul><li>Expert-level PHP knowledge.</li><li>Experience with MongoDB.</li><li>Understanding of front-end technologies.</li></ul><div> </div> What we offer:<ul><li>Stock options so you own a part of Printify.</li><li>Opportunity to work fully remotely within EMEA time zones.</li><li>Work from anywhere – our Printify Houses in Riga or Tallinn, your remote home office, or a co-working hub.</li><li>Start your workday anywhere between 7 AM and 11 AM.
