The role:
<ul>
<li>The product engineer should be able to add and update functionality to our web service. </li>
<li>Defining protocol buffer APIs for browser-server and server-worker interactions.</li>
<li>Implementing the interactions by:</li>
<li>Writing good unit and integration tests for the backend.</li>
<li>Evaluating and adopting frameworks such as React or htmx for the frontend and building custom UIs.</li>
<li>Being scrappy and fast in development while not compromising good design principles.</li>
</ul>
Ideal background:
<ul>
<li>The ideal candidate will have strong experience with python, protocol buffers, javascript, and a frontend framework of their choice. They will have demonstrated experience in designing nontrivial UIs with HTML and javascript (e.g. a UI for free-form drawing, a web UI for a game, etc).</li>
