We are seeking an experienced Cloud Security Engineer that will become a member of newly formed security team within KrakenFlex. You’ll play a crucial role in securing our cloud environment, integrating security practices, and shaping a culture of security. This is a creative, and collaborative position that is a full-time member of an AWS-focused, agile engineering organisation. The role will work closely with our development and platform teams, to help them following crucial security principles and industry best practices. If you’re passionate about AWS technologies and driving cloud security, we encourage you to apply!\n What you'll do <ul><li>Setup and maintain monitoring, metrics &amp; reporting systems for fine-grained security observability of cloud environment and actionable alerting</li><li>Monitor and respond to security incidents and vulnerabilities, and remediate security misconfigurations.</li><li>Design and implement secure cloud architecture.</li><li>Implement standards and policies to safeguard workloads and the cloud infrastructure.</li><li>Collaborate with product teams to integrate security best practices into cloud-based applications.</li><li>Plan and implement solutions for backup and recovery, high availability, secrets &amp; key management, and other strategic initiatives</li><li>Conduct regular security checks and audits, and provide recommendations for continuous improvement.</li><li>Act as a technical security professional, providing advice and guidance to other team members and the wider business</li><li>Help cultivate a strong technical security culture across the organisation</li><li>Collaborate with external pen-testing company to help evaluate the security for all aspects of our cloud infrastructure</li><li>Work with our delivery teams to ensure our services adhere to the AWS Well-Architected Framework (Operational Excellence, Security, Reliability, Performance Efficiency, Cost Optimisation and Sustainability)</li></ul><div> </div> What you'll need<ul><li>A strong technical security background</li><li>Multiple years of experience working with cloud technologies, preferably with a security focus. AWS certification is really welcomed.</li><li>Competence in incident response planning, vulnerability management, security event management, supported by strong knowledge of tooling and detection techniques</li><li>Firm understanding of IAM and RBAC, with emphasis on applying Least Privilege principle</li><li>Strong experience in implementing and automating security best-practices</li><li>Experience working with teams around the globe</li><li>Ability to prioritise tasks and work independently</li><li>Experience working with infrastructure as code tools such as CloudFormation, Terraform and CDK.</li></ul> It would be great if you had<ul><li>Foundational networking knowledge, such as switching, firewalls, routing and DNS</li><li>AWS networking knowledge, such as VPCs, Transit Gateways and how this works in a multi-region environment</li></ul> Why else you'll love it here<ul><li>Wondering what the salary for this role is?
