Then this may be the role for you. The Senior Counsel will be a member of the Wrapbook Legal team and will play a crucial role providing in-house legal counsel regarding matters across the company, including negotiating, drafting, and reviewing customer and vendor contracts, advising internal teams on labor and employment regulations and best practices that are incorporated into Wrapbook’s platform and offerings as an employer of record, along with support for the People, Labor Relations, Operations, and Tax teams. What You’ll Do: <ul style="min-height:1.5em"><li>Provide in-house legal counsel on contract and product-related matters as they relate to Wrapbook’s offerings, its role as an employer of record, along with its corporate employees, which may include, but are not limited to, wage and hour laws, workers’ compensation, labor relations, human resources issues, employee agreements and policy-related issues, employment related litigation, grievances and arbitration, FMLA matters and generally assist the General Counsel and Deputy General Counsel and support the People, Labor Relations, Operations, Tax, and Engineering, Product, and Design (EPD) teams.</li><li>Internal lead for handling all claims related to labor and employment matters.</li><li>Supervise, manage and evaluate outside counsel on labor and employment related matters, including litigation.</li><li>Support the EPD team, including by advising on labor, employment, and tax laws and regulations and best practices as they relate to Wrapbook’s platform and offerings as an employer of record.</li><li>Support the People team, including by advising on labor and employment-related matters as they relate to Wrapbook and its workforce.</li><li>Support the Operations and Tax team by advising on labor, employment, and tax (including payroll tax) matters or questions that may arise. </li><li>Collaborate with cross-functional stakeholders and manage projects with a team-oriented approach.</li><li>Identify and assess legal risks and opportunities within labor and employment and advise accordingly.</li><li>Review, negotiate, and draft agreements with customers and vendors.</li><li>Educate clients and stakeholders on legal matters, policies, and procedures.</li><li>Establish and maintain relationships, credibility, and trust with stakeholders, legal team members and other colleagues.</li><li>Lead and assist the General Counsel and Deputy General Counsel with other legal matters as needed.</li></ul> What You’ll Have:<ul style="min-height:1.5em"><li>A juris doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.</li><li>Bar certified to practice law in at least one state in the U.S.</li><li>5+ years experience as a labor and employment attorney with relevant in-house and/or law firm experience.</li><li>Excellent oral and written communications skills.</li><li>An ability to collaborate with cross-functional stakeholders in a fast-paced environment to drive program and process adoption.</li><li>Keen business sense with strong judgment, advising, negotiation, drafting, and decision-making skills. </li><li>Ability to prioritize and operate independently and effectively in a dynamic environment.</li><li>Experience developing and driving program and process adoption with cross-functional stakeholders.</li><li>Ability to work efficiently, meet demanding deadlines, and balance multiple tasks in a fast-paced and agile environment.</li><li>Experience as lead for handling claims related to labor and employment matters and experience dealing with CA and NY labor practices a plus.</li><li>Experience/strong interest in working in a start-up environment.</li></ul> Why Join UsAt Wrapbook, creativity meets technology — and not just in the product.In addition to a competitive salary and all the benefits you can expect from a fast-growing technology company, you’ll get access to a team of creative problem solvers and the chance to see your contributions make large impacts.
