Are you an experienced Environment Artist who wants to build a rich immersive world on a brand-new game with a hugely popular IP?As a Senior Environment Artist on this unannounced project being developed in UE5, you will apply your proven experience to create large and complex areas of the game environments for players to explore and admire, while having an excellent gameplay experience.This is a role for an artist with proven skills across the full environment art cycle including block outs, content, architectural work, organic work and props. You’ll have the opportunity to communicate cross-functionally in an effective manner, working with the wider art and design teams to be a high impact team member and to make your and the rest of the team’s vision a reality.&nbsp;What you’ll be doing:<ul> <li>Own and deliver large and complex areas of the game environment.</li> <li>Autonomously produce inspiring benchmark quality environment assets adhering to the art direction of the game in consideration of technical constraints.</li> <li>Guarantee visual consistency by understating and following the art style guide.</li> <li>Use mechanisms and strong artistic judgment to evaluate asset quality and correct accordingly</li> <li>Work collaboratively with designers and the wider art team to produce the best player focussed interactive experience </li> <li>Research, collate and prepare reference and source materials as required for the creation of in game environments.</li> <li>Ensure the technical delivery of frame rate with consideration of budgets, lighting and shaders.</li> <li>Work with Outsource teams providing on point feedback and integrating artwork as needed. </li> <li>Be a major driver and voice in cross discipline visual development, brainstorms, and pitches.</li> <li>Share knowledge and level up via mentoring, coaching and critique sessions those more junior in your craft.</li> <li>Effectively scope, plan and time cost out deliverables.</li> <li>Create technical documentation to support visual direction e.g. – production guides.</li> <li>Encourage, promote, and build good team and studio morale in an open, creative environment .</li> </ul>What we’re looking for:<ul> <li>A strong portfolio demonstrating full environment work (not just props) in both 3D software and game engine covering; modelling, surfacing, texturing and lighting.</li> <li>Full proficiency in modern game development software; Maya, Substance, Photoshop, Z-Brush.</li> <li>Strong experience with Unreal Engine or similar game engines.</li> <li>Proven experience of full game development cycles from concept to completion of live product releases.</li> <li>Demonstrable technical knowledge of real-time engine budgets and optimizations</li> <li>Knowledge and expertise of the fundamental art principles (colour, composition, value/ lighting, anatomy, form, perspective).</li> <li>Ability to deconstruct, understand and adapt to various art styles replicating them successfully. </li> <li>A deep artistic toolbox with multiple approaches and processes to visual development and problem solving. </li> <li>A strong enthusiasm for games and a deep understanding of game development processes </li> </ul>&nbsp;What we offer:When you join Jagex you can look forward to a generous Perks &amp; Benefits package including:<ul> <li>Private Healthcare, including Dental Plan.</li> <li>Minimum 6% Pension contributions.</li> <li>Employee Assistance Programme &amp; onsite Counselling.</li> <li>Life Insurance.</li> <li>Discretionary annual performance bonus.</li> <li>Enhanced family leave policies from day 1.</li> <li>Flexible working hours.</li> <li>25 days annual leave + Bank holidays &amp; the option to buy/sell holidays + so much more!</li> </ul>&nbsp;Collaboration is at the heart of Jagex.
