You will have the chance to collaborate with some of the brightest minds in the industry who harness the power of data to provide ground-breaking impact for our clients.As a Software Engineer in Test at Xiatech, you will lead the way to automate all aspects of testing and quality assurance for our Xfuze Hyper-Integration and Advanced Analytics Data Platforms as part of a cross-functional squad, including our data lakehouses, pipelines, APIs, and supporting front end.This role will report to the Engineering Manager and work closely with other engineers and business stakeholders to deliver real-time, event-driven data solutions and the supporting test frameworks/tooling.You will be working with the very latest technologies in an exciting and fast-paced environment. This exciting role will have a genuine impact from day one and will enable the right person to progress their career in a rapidly expanding organisation.&nbsp;Key Responsibilities<ul> <li>Lead and implement best practices, automation frameworks, tooling, and processes to continuously improve the company’s QA maturity.</li> <li>Work within a cross-functional squad to incrementally deliver new features using agile methodologies.</li> <li>Create and execute test plans using a range of manual and automated testing techniques, including performance testing and testing data through pipelines.</li> <li>Work with the Product Owner and engineers to define acceptance criteria and refine functional, as well as non-functional requirements.</li> <li>Identify, define, and capture testing requirements for the stories and epics within your team’s backlog.</li> <li>Set up, seed, and manage test data.</li> <li>Clearly and regularly report progress and quality metrics, along with any delays or quality issues.</li> </ul><ul> <li>Champion quality within the organisation and promote it as being a responsibility of the whole team, not just QA Engineers.</li> <li>During UAT you may have daily contact with our external clients so you will need to be able to understand their requirements and business processes to help them with their testing.</li> <li>Be willing to understand the Client’s 3rd party systems and where appropriate work alongside their testers for SIT.</li> <li>Enable the company to scale by improving our onboarding, training, and SDLC processes.</li> </ul>Your Knowledge &amp; Experience<ul> <li>5+&nbsp; years experience in QA.</li> <li>Broad knowledge of different testing techniques, such as API, front-end, regression, performance, and e2e testing.</li> <li>Comfortable writing test plans and maintaining test suites.</li> <li>Proficiency in Go, JS, Python, or similar for writing automated tests.</li> <li>Experience testing data-centric solutions and working with multiple types of data stores to query and create test data, such as document (MongoDB), data warehouses (BigQuery), cache (Redis), relational databases, and object stores such as s3.</li> </ul><ul> <li>Cloud platforms, especially GCP services such as GCS, Cloud Functions, and Dataproc.</li> <li>Familiarity with containerization and IaC tools (e.g. Docker, Kubernetes, Terraform).</li> <li>Worked within an agile environment (Scrum, Kanban, etc).</li> <li>Previous experience in the retail domain is highly desirable.</li> <li>Excellent communication and presentation skills.</li> </ul>Your Personality<ul> <li>Innovative</li> <li>Driven</li> <li>Resilient</li> <li>Insightful</li> <li>Empathetic</li> <li>Analytical</li> <li>Self-Starter</li> <li>Creative</li> <li>Problem solver</li> </ul>If you would like the opportunity to join an established UK-based Software as a Service organisation who believe in using the latest leading-edge technology to drive business growth, please enquire now by emailing maddie<a href="mailto:steph@xiatech.co.uk" rel="nofollow noreferrer noopener" class="external">@xiatech.co.uk</a>&nbsp;If you receive an offer of employment, this will be conditional upon satisfactory completion of a right to work &amp; identity check, a reference check and a basic criminal record check for any unspent convictions.Xiatech is proud to be an equal opportunity employer and prohibits discrimination and harassment of any kind.
