About the RoleHighspot's rapidly growing, pre-IPO Accounting team is looking to add a Senior Accountant to join their team. You will work across teams to optimize the company’s operational accounting processes, internal controllership, and financial data integrity. You will be responsible for monitoring and managing a significant portion of monthly close activities, while also supporting cross functional projects. Additionally, you will collaborate closely with accounting managers and directors, as well as partner with stakeholders in finance and the broader business on various initiatives.\n What You'll Do <ul><li>Ensure accurate and timely reporting of financial reports in accordance with US GAAP and accounting policies.</li><li>Work across technical topics such as leases, capitalized software, accruals, etc.</li><li>Collaborate with managers to perform accounting period-end close activities including posting/reviewing journal entries, reconciliations, and analytics.</li><li>Partner with international accounting team members to support both international and domestic compliance requirements.</li><li>Research and prepare technical accounting documentation as needed.</li><li>Develop and maintain accounting policies and procedural documentation for areas of responsibility.</li><li>Innovate and collaborate for continuous process improvement, advising and leading others in implementing ideas to enhance existing systems, internal controls, and work processes impacting financial close and reporting.</li><li>Partner with teams such as IT Applications, Finance, Tax and Legal to determine and operationalize the accounting implications of new business initiatives and transactions.</li></ul> Your Background <ul><li>4+ years of combined public accounting and industry experience.</li><li>Fluency in U.S. GAAP and SEC reporting with the ability to research and document accounting issues and findings.</li><li>Technical accounting experience in preparing memos and technical accounting conclusions, with preferred experience in leases, capitalized software, and accrual accounting.</li><li>Ability to perform analytical assessments of the balance sheet and profit and loss schedule, including presenting results to leadership.</li><li>Exposure to or direct experience with a monthly accounting close process.</li><li>Experience in NetSuite and FloQast is a plus.</li><li>Strong knowledge of Excel.</li><li>Demonstrated experience partnering with cross-functional stakeholders.</li><li>Experience with internal controls (design, implementation, and execution).</li><li>Demonstrated history of taking on various types of challenging projects and delivering results.</li><li>Ability to understand, evaluate, and develop end-to-end processes.</li><li>Excellent communication and organizational skills, both written and verbal.</li><li>CPA preferred.</li></ul> This position is available either in-office or remote, as applicable, at the following locations:<ul><li>Alberta, Canada - Remote</li><li>British Columbia - Remote</li><li>Ontario - Remote </li></ul> \nBase salary range: $95,000 - $129,000Employees are eligible to receive stock options and may also receive other forms of compensation.The above represents total expected compensation for this role.
