Position overview

This position reports to the CEO and primarily entails assisting him with operational projects. While you do not need previous industry experience, a desire to learn how it works is critical. This job provides a path for rapid growth as the two former hires for this position now serve as the Head of our Partnerships Team and the Operations Lead for our Publisher Team.


Note that the CEO is based in SF but spends 1-2+ weeks per month in NYC.


This role is hybrid but candidate must be located in New York City due to certain on-site responsibilities.

In this role you'll learn:

  • How to operate alongside a CEO and gain firsthand exposure to executive decision-making, company strategy, and startup leadership
  • How to build and improve operational systems across areas like revenue operations, sales planning, and internal workflows in a high-growth startup
  • How to use data and business intelligence tools to identify key metrics, generate insights, and help teams make more informed decisions
  • How to lead and execute cross-functional projects by coordinating stakeholders, managing priorities, and driving initiatives from idea to completion

Core responsibilities

  • Advising internal processes, such as how we run meetings, revenue operations strategy, sales planning, etc
  • Learning about technology tools that will streamline processes and make the business more efficient
  • Company strategy planning: Organizing and project managing our biannual strategy planning summits
  • Making the company more data driven:
  • Identify what metrics each team (sales, marketing, product, customer success, etc) should track on a weekly, monthly, and quarterly basis
  • Analyze and interpret data to create actionable insights for teams to improve performance
  • Visualize data utilizing business intelligence and data analytics tools
  • Taking ownership of cross-functional initiatives that fall outside existing teams, defining scope, and executing effectively
  • Providing personal support to the CEO, including managing travel arrangements, making reservations, and handling online orders
  • Any dozen other things that pop up every week

What you'll bring

  • Bachelor’s degree required
  • Proficiency in Google Workspace and Microsoft Office
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail, with the ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently in a fast-paced environment
  • A team player who’s eager to learn and grow, thrives in a dynamic start-up environment, and has a strong desire to make a meaningful impact while expanding their role within the company

What will set you apart

  • Previous operations experience at a startup
  • A strong pulse on AI tools, such as GPTs, AI assistants, and data visualization software, etc
  • Knowledge of the digital media or information services industries
  • Intermediate to advanced Excel skills
