Principal Agentic Engineer (Front-end)

Senior frontend technical leader building scalable, AI-driven web apps; leads frontend direction, mentors engineers, and collaborates with product, design, and backend teams to ship production-ready solutions.

Responsibilities

  • Lead design and development of frontend apps with TypeScript, React, Next.js.
  • Translate backlog from Product/UX into spec-driven requirements for Agents.
  • Convert user stories and design systems into implementation specs for Agents.
  • Design SEO, accessibility, performance, and CMS integrations.
  • Integrate with Contentful, Contentstack, Algolia, Cloudinary, etc.
  • Architect frontend solutions that connect to backend and AI systems.
  • Create UX to express goals to AI agents; leverage AI APIs and LLM/RAG features.
  • Collaborate with backend to consume RESTful APIs.
  • Mentor engineers; ensure scalable, maintainable, well-documented frontend code.
  • Manage delivery risks with PMs/stakeholders; communicate with clients.

Requirements

  • TypeScript and modern JavaScript proficiency
  • React and Next.js experience
  • Spec-driven development experience
  • RESTful APIs design/consumption experience
  • Experience with AI coding agents (Copilot, Claude Code) and prompt engineering
  • Experience with LLMs (Gemini 3, Claude Opus, GPT-4.x/5.x)
  • Vector stores and RAG-powered applications
  • GCP deployment experience, Vertex AI familiarity
  • Proven leadership at Staff/Lead level mentoring engineers
  • Git and CI/CD workflows

Nice to Have

  • Experience with BMAD Method or similar spec-driven frameworks
  • Experience with AI agent design patterns, task planning, and reasoning
  • Experience with agent observability and debugging
  • Familiarity with layered and distributed architectures
  • Experience with Terraform
  • Experience with backend technologies to support full-stack collaboration
  • Experience with eCommerce platforms or complex frontend ecosystems
