Develop and maintain Angular web applications for a federal modernization program, translating designs into accessible UI using a Design System.
Responsibilities
- Develop Angular components and UI from Figma designs using the Design System.
- Build and consume RESTful APIs, coordinating on data contracts and integration points.
- Write frontend tests (unit/integration) to achieve high branch coverage.
- Implement accessibility in UI: ARIA, semantic HTML, and keyboard navigation.
- Ensure UI code passes automated accessibility checks in CI before merge.
- Contribute to Design System governance; identify patterns and document in Figma/Confluence.
- Build responsive, cross‑browser interfaces for supported devices.
- Complete code reviews within 1 business day with constructive feedback.
- Participate in SAFe Agile ceremonies: planning, standup, review, retrospective, backlog refinement.
- Collaborate with UX designers on design feasibility during backlog refinement.
Requirements
- 5 years of frontend web development experience.
- Bachelor's degree in CS/IT or 3 years of additional experience.
- Proficiency in Angular (12+), TypeScript, HTML5, CSS3; building SPAs.
- Experience building and consuming RESTful APIs from frontend apps.
- Experience implementing designs from Figma or similar tools into production code.
- Experience with a shared Design System or component library and tokens/patterns.
- Familiarity with WCAG 2.1 AA and Section 508; basic accessible UI patterns.
- Experience writing frontend unit and integration tests (Jasmine, Karma, Jest).
- Experience with CI/CD pipelines (GitLab CI preferred) and frontend build/test integration.
- Familiarity with SonarQube and quality gates.
Nice to Have
- Experience with federal contracts (FAR, ATO) and mission-critical systems.
- Proficiency with Jira and Confluence; Scrum/SAFe with 2-3 week sprints.
- Experience with Bootstrap or CSS frameworks alongside a Design System.
- Experience with automated accessibility scanning tools in CI (aXe/pa11y/WAVE).
- Experience with Playwright, Cypress, or Selenium for E2E testing.
- Familiarity with responsive design and cross-browser testing.
- Experience contributing to Design System governance and documentation.
- Background integrating with federated identity providers or federal payment systems.
- Certification or coursework in accessibility (IAAP CPACC or WAS) or UX design.
