The Role: DevOps Engineer II • Manage cloud infrastructure and developer experience for a modern AWS-native SaaS platform. • Hands-on ownership of CI/CD pipelines, AWS infrastructure, and deployment tooling. • Collaborate with backend and frontend engineers to ship reliable infrastructure, handle incidents, and improve software deployment. • Focus on execution and ownership rather than org-wide strategy. What We Offer: • Competitive salary • Remote-first culture with occasional in-person gatherings • Clear career growth opportunities • Budget for tools and learning • Health benefits with 401k matching • Flexible hours, generous PTO, company holidays, Focus Fridays, and a messaging policy favoring work-life balance Responsibilities: • Maintain and extend AWS infrastructure across test, staging, and production using AWS CDK (TypeScript) and Terraform. • Manage compute (Lambda, ECS Fargate), networking (VPC, CloudFront, Route 53), storage (S3, DynamoDB), and messaging (SQS, EventBridge, MSK). • Review infrastructure PRs ensuring clean, consistent, well-documented IaC. • Own and enhance GitHub Actions pipelines for backend, containerized, and frontend services. • Maintain deployment safety controls, rollback, and environment promotion workflows. • Monitor system health with CloudWatch, New Relic, and AWS X-Ray. • Participate in on-call rotation, incident response, and proactive reliability improvements. • Manage AWS IAM roles, policies, GitHub OIDC flows, and secrets lifecycle with AWS Secrets Manager. • Collaborate with engineers, communicate changes clearly to stakeholders, and suggest process improvements. Required Qualifications: • 3-5 years of hands-on AWS experience in production. • Proficient with Lambda, ECS, VPC, CloudFront, S3, DynamoDB, SQS, EventBridge. • Strong understanding of IAM and secure credential management. • Experience with IaC tools like AWS CDK, Terraform, or CloudFormation. • Skilled in CI/CD pipelines (GitHub Actions, CircleCI, Jenkins) and automation scripting. • Knowledge of Docker, container lifecycle, ECS Fargate, serverless frameworks. • Experienced in monitoring and observability tools with incident handling skills. Preferred Experience: • Familiarity with AWS CDK, Terraform, GitHub Actions, Serverless Framework. • Comfortable with MongoDB Atlas, ClickHouse, Redis, DynamoDB operational support. • Experience in SaaS multi-tenant platforms, event-driven architectures, multi-environment deployments, and on-call practices.
