Strategic Account Manager
About the Role
EnergyCAPis looking for aStrategic Account Managerto own and grow revenue across an established portfolio of customer accounts. This role is critical to our continued growth because itis responsible forthe customer relationship and revenueafter theinitialsale, ensuring retention,identifyingexpansion opportunities, andmaintaininga healthy and predictable pipeline aligned to ARR goals.
In this role,you’llbe a trusted customer partner and the main point of accountability for renewals, retention, and expansion across yourbook of business.You’llcollaborate cross-functionally to deliver an outstanding customer experience while managingpipeline, renewals, customer risk, and long-term account growth. Success in this role means consistently delivering revenue outcomes through strong customer relationships, disciplined execution, and proactive account management.
WhatYou’llDo
- Manage and grow assigned customer accountsthrough proactive engagement that drives retention, satisfaction, and long-term value.
- Own account revenueby delivering consistent performance againstARR and quota targetsthrough renewals and expansion execution.
- Build and managepipelinewithin your accountsbyidentifying, qualifying, and advancing upsell/cross-sell opportunities.
- Support renewals end-to-endincluding timelines, customer communication, negotiation support, and internal coordination to ensure on-time renewal completion.
- MaintainaccurateCRM data and forecasting visibilityacrosspipeline, renewals, account status, and revenue expectations.
- Lead strategic account planning and quarterly business reviewsto track goals,align onoutcomes, and uncoveradditionalgrowth opportunities.
- Partner cross-functionallywith Sales,CSM,Support,,Marketing,RevOpsand Finance to resolve customer needs and drive customer and business outcomes.
- Support strategic initiatives and priority projectsincluding complex renewals, multi-year agreements, pricing or contract updates, and process improvement efforts.
WhatYou’llBring
- 2–3 years of sales-related experience(BDR, Account Manager, AE, or similar), preferably in aB2Band/orconsultative salesenvironment.
- Experience managing a portfolio of customer accountsand owning ongoing customer outcomes.
- Proven ability to support renewals, retention, and revenue growththrough disciplined execution and relationship management.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, including confidence working with decision-makers and handling difficult conversations.
- Ability to build trusted customer relationshipsthrough proactive engagement, expectation setting, and strong follow-through.
- Strong organization, time management, and prioritization skillswith the ability to manage a high-volumebook of business.
- Experience using CRM tools and sales processesto managepipelines, track performance, and forecast accurately.
- Ability to collaborate cross-functionallyand align internal teams to deliver customer success and revenue results.
- Ownership mindset and adaptability, with the ability to work through ambiguity and consistently deliver results.
- Associate degreerequired(bachelor'sdegree preferred).
Preferred Qualifications
- SaaS and/or subscription-based business experience.
- Experience managing long-term customer relationships(1+ year lifecycle).
- Experience with contract management, renewals, andexpansionconversationsincluding multi-year agreements or pricing changes.
Success in This Role Looks Like
- Consistently meeting or exceeding ARR and quota targetsthrough strong pipeline management, renewals, and account expansion.
- Strong retention and on-time renewals, with proactive identification and mitigation of customer risk.
- Trusted, strategic customer partnerships, serving as a key point of contact and revenue owner.
- A healthy and predictable pipeline, supported byaccurateforecasting and clear visibility into revenue outcomes.
- Strong customer adoption and value realization, ensuring customers see outcomes and long-term success.
- High internal alignment and collaboration, contributing toa consistentcustomer experience and positive business results.
Pay Range:$70,000 - $80,000 annual base salary. $130,000 - $140,000 OTE
Pay iscommensuratewith experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities.
