Staff Software Engineer - Backend

Own and evolve backend systems powering Foodsmart’s platform, building scalable services for member experiences and clinical workflows.
Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain backend systems powering the Foodsmart web app.
- Design and implement APIs with frontend engineers to serve UI needs.
- Enforce development practices: code reviews and testing.
- Turn end-user requirements into robust backend solutions with the product team.
- Debug and resolve production, server-side, and database issues.
- Monitor and optimize system performance and scalability.
- Stay informed on emerging tech and apply relevant advances.
Requirements
- 8-10 years backend development using JavaScript, TypeScript, or Node.js.
- Proficient in designing and implementing RESTful APIs.
- Strong command of SQL (MySQL/PostgreSQL) and NoSQL (DynamoDB).
- Experience with AWS services: Lambda, SQS, RDS, EC2.
- Docker and Kubernetes experience.
- BS or MS in Computer Science or related field.
Nice to Have
- Retool experience (low-code platforms).
- Experience with Amazon Redshift (cloud data warehouse).
