Senior backend-focused engineer owning backend services and data infrastructure powering Foodsmart, with frontend collaboration.
Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain backend systems powering the Foodsmart web application.
- Design and implement APIs to serve frontend needs.
- Enforce code reviews and testing to improve quality.
- Translate end-user requirements into robust backend solutions with the product team.
- Debug and resolve production, server-side, and database issues.
- Monitor and optimize system performance and scalability.
- Explore emerging technologies and apply them to backend development.
Requirements
- 3-5 years of backend development experience (JS/TS/Node.js).
- Proficient in designing and implementing RESTful APIs.
- Strong SQL databases (MySQL/PostgreSQL) and DynamoDB.
- Experience with AWS services: Lambda, SQS, RDS, EC2.
- Docker and Kubernetes/container orchestration experience.
- BS or MS in Computer Science or a related field.
Nice to Have
- Retool or other low-code platforms experience.
- Experience with Amazon Redshift.
