Own and evolve Hungryroot's OpenSearch-powered search platform, shaping index design, ranking, and scaling, while mentoring teammates.

Own the search service end-to-end: index design, queries, relevance, and upgrades.
Lead architecture discussions on hybrid retrieval, embeddings, scoring, and personalization.
Translate business requirements into performant search features with product teams.
Contribute to features across the search stack: mappings, query builders, KNN, embeddings sidecar.
Incorporate AI tools (Cursor, Claude Code) into workflows and establish best practices.
Improve code quality via reviews, testing, talks, and refactoring.
Participate in interviewing and hiring for engineers at all levels.
