Requirements:

We are looking for a Data Center Technical Support Technician to provide on-site technical support in various data centers. The selected candidate will act as a physical extension of the remote operations, engineering, and infrastructure teams, performing a wide range of hands-on activities related to servers, network equipment, storage systems, and data center infrastructure.

This role requires a proactive and detail-oriented professional, capable of executing technical procedures, supporting troubleshooting activities, and ensuring operational excellence in mission-critical environments.


Main Responsibilities:
• Perform on-site interventions in data centers, following documented procedures and technical instructions.

• Install, disable, and relocate IT equipment, including servers, storage arrays, switches, firewalls, and related infrastructure.

• Perform rack installation and configuration activities, cable management, and equipment labeling.

• Perform copper and fiber optic cable patching and connectivity verification.

• Replace hardware components such as hard drives, SSDs, memory modules, power supplies, network interface cards, and other field-replaceable units.

• Conduct visual inspections of equipment status indicators, alarms, and environmental conditions.

• Provide remote support to infrastructure, network, cloud, and operations teams.

• Accompany and assist external vendors, maintenance service providers, and original equipment manufacturer (OEM) engineers during scheduled interventions.

• Support implementation activities, infrastructure upgrades, and technology upgrade projects.

• Maintain accurate records of interventions, asset inventories, and operational activities.

• Capture photographic evidence and provide detailed intervention reports when necessary.

• Ensure compliance with data center operating procedures, security policies, and health and safety standards.

Required Qualifications
• Proven experience in Data Center, Infrastructure, or IT Operations environments. • Practical experience with enterprise server platforms such as Dell, HPE, Lenovo, Cisco, or equivalent vendors.

• Basic knowledge of networking concepts, including switching, routing, VLANs, and structured cabling. • Experience with storage systems and physical infrastructure components.

• Familiarity with best practices and operational processes for data centers.

• Ability to follow technical documentation and execute procedures with a high level of accuracy.

• Strong troubleshooting and fault diagnosis skills.

Desired Qualifications
• Experience supporting Tier III or Tier IV data centers.

• Industry certifications such as CompTIA A+, Network+, CCNA, or equivalent.

• Knowledge of ITIL processes and service management practices.

• Experience in mission-critical or high-availability environments.

Language Requirements:
• Fluent Portuguese.

Availability
• Availability for scheduled and one-off interventions.

• Flexibility to support activities outside of standard business hours when necessary.

• Willingness to participate in shifts or emergency support shifts is considered an advantage.

Typical manual operation activities:

• Restarting equipment.

• Visual verification of alarms, LEDs, and equipment status.

• Hardware replacement and component exchange.

• Rack and installation operation.

• Network and fiber optic connection.

• Cable tracing and connectivity validation.

• Inventory verification and asset management.

• Remote assistance to infrastructure teams.

• Supplier follow-up and supervision.

• Support for infrastructure deployment and upgrades.

Location: Lisbon,Porto, Remote

Salary Range:: 150€ - 250€ / day
