Accountabilities:

The Technical Lead - Node.js is responsible for providing technical direction, building robust applications, and ensuring successful delivery throughout the software development lifecycle. This role combines architecture, coding expertise, team collaboration, and client-focused problem solving to deliver scalable and maintainable solutions.

• Lead the design, development, testing, deployment, and continuous improvement of software applications using modern JavaScript/TypeScript and Node.js technologies.
• Define technical approaches and contribute to application architecture decisions, ensuring solutions align with business objectives and future scalability needs.
• Develop and maintain service-oriented, loosely coupled systems with a focus on performance, reliability, and maintainability.
• Work closely with clients and internal teams to understand requirements, translate needs into technical solutions, and anticipate future technology needs.
• Guide engineering teams through technical challenges, provide mentorship, and coach developers on best practices and implementation strategies.
• Review code, promote engineering standards, and ensure delivery of high-quality software solutions.
• Collaborate on technical roadmaps and support prioritization of development initiatives.
• Troubleshoot complex technical issues across coding, testing, deployment, and production environments.
• Apply expertise in databases, data integration, and system performance optimization to improve application effectiveness.
• Participate in client-facing discussions and provide technical insights throughout project execution.

Requirements:

The ideal candidate brings strong software engineering experience, technical leadership capabilities, and the ability to operate effectively in a fast-paced consulting environment. This role requires both deep technical knowledge and strong communication skills to support teams and stakeholders.

• 6+ years of overall professional experience in software development.
• 4+ years of hands-on experience developing applications with JavaScript and TypeScript.
• 2+ years of professional experience working with Node.js.
• Strong understanding of relational databases, data warehouses, reporting databases, data modeling, data integration, and performance optimization.
• Experience designing and implementing loosely coupled, service-oriented architectures.
• Strong knowledge of object-oriented design principles and software development best practices.
• Proven ability to mentor and coach development teams on technical concepts and engineering practices.
• Ability to understand technical roadmaps and lead teams toward successful execution.
• Experience with GraphQL and Kafka is a plus.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills with the ability to collaborate effectively with technical and non-technical stakeholders.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities, adapt to changing requirements, and deliver results under tight deadlines.
• Willingness to travel quarterly to locations such as Chicago or Atlanta as needed.
