Description

This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a Thermal Systems Technical Documentation Engineer based in the United States.

This is an exciting opportunity for an engineering professional with strong thermal systems expertise to transform complex technical concepts into clear, accurate, and impactful documentation. In this role, you will bridge advanced thermodynamics, refrigeration principles, and real-world hardware applications to support innovative cooling solutions for mission-critical infrastructure. You will own the documentation lifecycle, creating installation, operation, and maintenance materials that enable successful product adoption and field execution. Working in a remote environment, you will collaborate with engineering and product teams to translate sophisticated system designs into practical resources that improve reliability, efficiency, and customer experience.

Accountabilities

  • Lead the creation, editing, and continuous improvement of technical documentation, including comprehensive Installation, Operation, and Maintenance (IOM) manuals for advanced thermal management systems.
  • Develop and manage structured documentation processes, including engineering submittal packages, technical reviews, and standardized materials for customers and contractors.
  • Create and refine Sequence of Operations (SOO) documentation by accurately translating control logic, sensor identifiers, system thresholds, and operational requirements into clear field-ready instructions.
  • Analyze and document complex thermal technologies, including heat exchangers, refrigeration systems, heat pumps, heat transfer components, and energy conversion processes.
  • Partner with research, engineering, and product development teams to gather technical specifications and support ongoing product improvements.
  • Independently manage documentation projects, timelines, deliverables, and reporting activities using collaborative project management tools.
  • Ensure all technical materials meet high standards for accuracy, clarity, usability, and alignment with product requirements.
  • Continuously adapt documentation practices to support evolving engineering specifications, product updates, and innovative cooling technologies.
  • Requirements

    • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering required, preferably in Mechanical Engineering, Thermal Sciences, or a closely related discipline.
    • 5+ years of experience in mechanical engineering, refrigeration, thermal management, HVAC, or a related technical field.
    • Strong theoretical knowledge of refrigeration cycles, heat transfer, and energy conversion systems, with the ability to translate engineering concepts into practical documentation.
    • Deep understanding of fluid dynamics and single-phase and two-phase heat transfer mechanisms.
    • Familiarity with modern data center cooling technologies, including direct-to-chip liquid cooling, immersion cooling, liquid-to-air, and liquid-to-liquid heat rejection systems is highly preferred.
    • Exceptional technical writing and communication skills, with experience producing engineering documentation, manuals, and customer-facing technical reports.
    • Strong attention to detail, organization, and ability to manage multiple documentation initiatives independently.
    • Ability to collaborate effectively with multidisciplinary engineering teams and quickly learn new technologies, specifications, and internal systems.
    • Benefits

      • Flexible remote work environment within the United States.
      • Opportunity to contribute to innovative and sustainable infrastructure solutions.
      • Professional growth opportunities within a fast-moving technology environment.
      • Collaboration with experienced engineers and industry experts working on next-generation cooling technologies.
      • Meaningful impact through projects focused on improving energy efficiency, reducing resource consumption, and supporting future infrastructure needs.
      • Opportunity to work in a culture that values innovation, ownership, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
      • Competitive compensation package and employee benefits.
