Role Summary
Rowan Digital Infrastructure is looking for a hands-on Facilities Manager to ensure our office footprints and flexible work spaces are running smoothly, and to build the foundation for our office architecture as we scale. The Facilities Manager will play a key role in helping Rowan scale by building office systems, planning for future growth, driving physical workplace strategy, and ensuring our in-office employee experience is top notch. This role is ideal for someone with prior experience driving facilities management in a high-growth startup environment. This role will own day-to-day office and flex space operations and buildout, vendor relationships, space planning, technology coordination, and asset management across Rowan’s offices in Denver (HQ), Seattle and other emerging areas, and will drive the strategic decisions that ensure our office environment remains a central part of Rowan’s success.
The successful candidate will be proactive and flexible, always thinking 2 steps ahead, and will have excellent communication and project management skills. They will be detail oriented in ensuring Rowan’s assets are managed effectively, and they will be comfortable driving business outcomes in a fast-paced, highly collaborative and fluid environment.
Travel: Ability to travel up to 20% for company gatherings or to project sites.
Location: Denver, CO (hybrid, 4 days/week in-office role)
Compensation: $100k – $115k (Offers Bonus)
Essential Responsibilities
Space & Office Operations
Work with the Office and Events Manager to manage all aspects of day-to-day facility operations, including maintenance, cleaning, office supplies, and vendor contracts
Work with the People & Culture, Office and Events and IT Teams to manage space planning and office space take-down for all Rowan offices including Denver (HQ), Seattle, and other sites
Develop and maintain a space utilization plan, including floor plans, desk assignments, and neighborhood/team allocations. Coordinate office moves, reconfigurations, and build-outs in line with this plan as we scale
Partner with leadership and People Ops on headcount projections to ensure space planning stays ahead of growth, and Rowan is considering new office needs and locations as we grow. Manage all aspects of necessary office expansions
Ensure all facilities meet safety, compliance, and accessibility standards (ADA, fire, OSHA), and ensure safety is a top priority in all Rowan office spaces
Technology & AV/IT Coordination
Coordinate with IT on all facilities-related technology infrastructure: network cabling, Wi-Fi coverage, badge access, and building systems
Manage conference room AV setup, troubleshooting, and vendor relationships; ensure rooms are consistently operational
Oversee building access control systems (badging, visitor management) and maintain accurate access records
Maintain and continuously improve facilities technology tools — space booking software, desk reservation systems as the office grows
Asset Management
Maintain a complete, accurate inventory of all office furniture, equipment, and physical assets
Track asset lifecycles — procurement, deployment, maintenance, and disposal — and recommend refresh cycles. Put in place programs to address refresh cycles and ensure appropriate recycling where possible
Partner with Finance on facilities budget tracking, capital expenditure planning, and cost forecasting for any expansions. Review and assess all invoices relating to office spaces to ensure accuracy and tracking against the budget
Partner with the Office and Events team to manage procurement of office supplies, furniture, and equipment; negotiate vendor contracts to optimize cost and quality
Planning & Scaling
Own the facilities roadmap for the expansion to 50k sq ft, including phasing, vendor selection, and construction coordination
Proactively identify risks and propose solutions before they become problems — leases, capacity constraints, vendor gaps
Work with the Safety and Compliance teams to ensure all spaces are consistent with Rowan’s principles and standards for EHS
Build relationships with internal stakeholders (IT, HR, Finance, Legal) to ensure facilities decisions are well-integrated across the business
Education, Skills, and Experience
5+ years of facilities management or office operations experience, ideally in a high-growth company environment
Demonstrated experience managing a physical expansion or build-out — not just steady-state operations
Comfortable owning vendor relationships end-to-end: RFPs, contract negotiation, performance management
Familiarity with facilities technology platforms (e.g., Skedda or similar) and AV/IT coordination
Strong organizational skills and attention to detail — you keep thorough records and nothing slips
Effective communicator who can work across functions and explain facilities needs to non-technical stakeholders
Proactive, self-directed problem solver — you find issues before they escalate and own them through resolution
Working knowledge of building systems (HVAC, electrical, plumbing) sufficient to triage issues and manage vendors
Experience managing multiple projects simultaneously
Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced and highly cross-functional environment)
Nice to Have
CFM (Certified Facility Manager) or FMP credential
Experience with LEED-certified or sustainability-focused office environments
Prior experience supporting a company through a significant real estate transaction (e.g. new lease)
Familiarity with Colorado building codes and permitting processes
