GIS Technical Analyst I/II
Timmons Group is currently seeking a GIS Technical Analyst I/II to join our team working remote. The GIS Technical Analyst is responsible for performing a wide variety of production tasks for the GIS Staff Augmentation Group supporting projects for our client. They assist and support meeting project deliverable requirements and deadlines.
The ideal candidate will be based in the Raleigh, NC area but we are open to remote candidates outside of Raleigh, NC.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities of a successful candidate include but are not limited to:
- Use various GIS software (ESRI ArcGIS), as well as various geographic data formats and standard data conversion and transformation methods, for geographic analysis.
- Update Geospatial data on an as-needed basis.
- Creating maps, reports, and presentations in support of various GIS and technology projects
- Working cooperatively with Project Managers and peers to complete assigned work.
- Proactively seeks input and clarification from other employees assigned to given projects to minimize time spent in performing the essential duties of the position
- Troubleshoot problems associated with existing GIS applications, tools, and data.
- Provide process-oriented approach to project work.
- Performs other duties as assigned
Skills/Requirements ofa successful candidate should have the following but not limited to:
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent from four-year college in GIS, Surveying, Engineering, Geography, Information Systems, or related degree
- Ideal candidates will have transportation department (DOT) experience
- Ideal candidates will have at least one year of related work experience
- Experience with stormwater and hydrology a plus
- Experience with ESRI ArcGIS Software (Desktop and Extensions, ArcGIS Enterprise, ArcGIS Server)
- Experience with Linear Referencing Systems (LRS) and/or Esri’s Roads and Highways is a plus
- Knowledge of ESRI Production Mapping suite of tools, including Data Reviewer, Workflow Manager, Task Assistant Manager is a plus
- Technical expertise obtaining, manipulating, and organizing data as well as defining, planning, and implementing analysis and processes
- Ability to work independently as well as part of team with excellent time management skills to ensure deadlines are met
- Strong oral and written communication skills
- Must be able to work with minimal direction to complete tasks and solve problems
