Associate Director, Paid Social - Entertainment
We Are Rosie is seeking a senior paid social practitioner to join an embedded agency team supporting a major theatrical entertainment studio throughout their 2026 theatrical release cycle. This is a high-visibility, full-time engagement embedded within a cross-channel paid media team at one of the most creatively distinctive studios in the industry.
As the Paid Social Associate Director, you will serve as the senior paid social voice on the team — owning channel strategy across Meta, TikTok, and YouTube, directing the Paid Social Manager, and partnering directly with the Client Activation Director to deliver performance against the client's theatrical marketing KPIs.
This is a full-time engagement (40 hrs/week) starting June 15, 2026 through December 31, 2026. West Coast hours are required — the client is based in Portland, OR and the agency team is in Los Angeles.
Key Responsibilities
Campaign Strategy & Client Partnership
- Serve as the senior paid social point of contact within the agency embedded team, working alongside the Client Activation Director to build integrated cross-channel campaign strategy for the studio's 2026 theatrical releases
- Partner with agency and studio stakeholders to translate studio marketing objectives, challenges, and KPIs — including awareness, intent, and ticket sales — into actionable paid social strategies
- Own paid social investment architecture across Meta, TikTok, and YouTube: audience strategy, creative frameworks, budget allocation, pacing, and channel prioritization
- Lead strategic planning for all phases of the theatrical release window: from talent announcements and trailer drops through wide release and awards season
Execution & Team Leadership
- Direct and mentor the Paid Social Manager on day-to-day campaign execution, creative rotation, spend pacing, and real-time performance response
- Ensure campaigns are set up accurately, trafficking is clean, and buys are executing against plan — quality control across all live campaigns
- Drive media excellence through platform best practices and agency tools and capabilities
- Manage concurrent campaigns across multiple release phases without sacrificing accuracy or performance accountability
Reporting & Stakeholder Communication
- Build trusted relationships with agency and studio stakeholders; serve as the senior paid social voice in client-facing performance conversations
- Communicate campaign performance, optimization decisions, and strategic recommendations through regular reporting and stakeholder presentations
- Contribute to campaign post-mortems and strategic reviews across each release window; translate learnings into forward strategy
Required
- Studio Entertainment experience — specifically theatrical release campaigns including trailer launches and film releases. Non-negotiable.
- 6–8+ years of paid social experience with at least 2 years at the Associate Director level or equivalent
- Deep, hands-on platform expertise across Meta (Facebook/Instagram), TikTok, and YouTube — campaign setup, audience strategy, creative optimization, and measurement
- Demonstrated ability to manage campaigns against tight theatrical release timelines — you understand the urgency of a trailer drop and an opening weekend
- Experience working within an embedded agency or client-side model; comfortable collaborating across paid social, programmatic, and search teams
- Strong client-facing communication skills; proven ability to present strategy and performance clearly to senior stakeholders
- Ability to work fast and independently under pressure without sacrificing quality or accuracy
Preferred
- Animation, family film, or independent studio campaign experience
- Familiarity with this agency's ecosystem, tools, and working model
- West Coast based or deep experience working Pacific time zone hours
- Experience managing or developing junior paid social practitioners
- Background in managing multi-film or tentpole release portfolios simultaneously
